Home Remedies for Obesity

Obesity is the bodily condition that has been characterize by excessive deposition or storage of fat in adipose tissue. It is the result of excessive consumption of food to meet the physiological needs. Its incidence is higher in persons who consume more food and lead sedentary lives. It can occur at any age and can affect both the sexes.

As in pregnancy the women usually gains about 14 kg weight and during that phase there is an increase in the adipose tissue, which serves as a store to meet the demands of lactation. Obesity is a serious health hazard as the extra fat put strain on the heart, kidneys, liver and joints of hips, knees and ankles.

The fat in the body is primarily drawn from the oils, ghees, and other fatty substances consumed through food and drink. Chocolates, wafers, sweets, remember excessive fat may also impair the function of the vital organs like heart, liver, joints and the kidneys. Obesity may also cause diabetes, asthma, arthritis, high blood pressure. Intake of fats and carbohydrates in excess results in obesity. Lack of exercise, physical work also helps in accumulation of fat in the body. In Ayurveda this condition is called medoroga.

Mint is also beneficial in dealing with the problem of obesity. Mint chutney taken along with meals is highly beneficial. This is one of good obesity remedy.
Obesity cure – Regular intake of carrot juice also helps in the reduction of weight.

Drink a cup of water with 3 teaspoons limejuice, one-fourth teaspoon powdered black pepper and a teaspoon of honey every day for three months. This is one of the effective home remedies for obesity.

Natural remedy for obesity – The leaves of Indian plum are valuable in getting rid of obesity. Soak a handful of Indian plum leaves in water and keep them overnight. Drink this water next day as first thing in the morning. This is another simple and one of the effective home remedies for obesity.
