Sitting for the Long Time May Lead to ED

Sitting for the long time may lead to the erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence. The men who sit continuously for the long duration are found to be more prone to erectile dysfunction. According to the latest research, erectile dysfunction is related to the long sitting hours. Erectile dysfunction is the condition that means an inability in men to get the erection or sustain the erection for the sufficient period of time during the sexual intercourse. Erectile dysfunction is caused by the lack of blood supply to the penis. The lack of blood supply to the penis is caused by the several reasons like diabetes, blood pressure, atherosclerosis, heart disorders, kidney or liver problems, Peyronie’s disease, or physical injuries to the penis and, the latest cause of the erectile dysfunction is said to be the sitting for the long time.

Sitting continuously for the long time is found to be the new cause of the erectile dysfunction in men. According to the study, 90% of the men who sit persistently for the long time are found to be suffering with the erectile dysfunction. In this study, around 500 men who sit for the long hours in their office participated. All these men were put for the questionnaire regarding there sexual life. It was noted during the survey that 275 men were having either problems in getting the erection or holding the erection during the sexual activity. But, it was not clear from this study whether the erectile dysfunction in these men was due to their long time sitting habit or some other disorder.

Additional part in this study was included in order to prove the role of sitting position in the erectile dysfunction. The men who were found to be suffering with the erectile dysfunction in the previous part of the study were then asked to only sit continuously for 1 hour and then were asked to stand for 10 minutes and the same cycle would be considered for the whole day. This type of routine was continued for about a month. Then these men were asked the question regarding their sexual life. It was surprising that 171 men out of 275 men who were having erectile dysfunction problem were getting the proper erection than before. The routine was then continued for 1 more month, after the month around 57% of the men who were suffering with erectile dysfunction got a hard and strong erection. These men were even able to hold the erection for longer duration than before. This study proved that erectile dysfunction in these men was certainly because of the long sitting hours.

Anatomically, sitting for the more hours contracts the arteries and the veins in the penile region. As a result the blood supply to the penis gets reduced and then the men face the problem of erectile dysfunction. Sometimes due to the long time sitting the arteries in the penis gets damaged because of the pressure processed by the limbs and by the tightening of the clothes over the testis. This results in the permanent damage of the arteries and veins that provide blood to the penis. Simultaneously the men fail to get the desired erection during the sexual encounter. Even the physical injuries and rashes are found to the penis due to the continuous sitting practice. As a result of which, it becomes difficult for men to get or hold the erection during the sexual encounter.

Sitting for the long time is certainly one of the causes of the erectile dysfunction is proved by the study. Sitting for the long time should be avoided by the men in order to keep them safe from the erectile dysfunction. Men should keep the get up from their places after every 1 hour to regulate the supply the blood to the penis, which was reduced due to the continuous sitting posture. Thus, men should take care of their sex life by avoiding sitting for the long time.
